Clint arrived in Western Australia on 5th August 1829 on the Calista. He was appointed Clerk to the Surveyor-General in October 1829. He accompanied Robert Dale to the Stirling Range in December 1831. He left for Tasmania in 1832 where he worked as a surveyor. Later he moved to Sydney where he worked as an engraver until his death.
