The map is contained in a pocket on the verso of the front cover. However some issues of this work have been found containing the map without the "36" plate number. Not all issues of this work are identical hence the phrase "with the most correct map extant' as copies have been found lacking any map and others with the combined Western Australia and Van Diemens Land, two maps on one sheet issue, by Arrowsmith.
